Santorini has some of the most scenic villages in reece. Almost all villages of Santorini are famous for their unique architecture, in the Cycladic style. Although the island receives a big number of tourists every summer, it has managed not to lose its traditional vibe. The most picturesque and popular villages of Santorini are Fira and Oia, which amaze every visitor with their views over the caldera and their wonderful sunsets. |
Fira is the capital of Santorini and a popular tourist resort. It is built right on the edge of a volcanic cliff and has a unique architecture, with small white houses and narrow paved streets. Fira is popular for the beautiful view of the volcano and its enchanting sunsets. There are lots of tourist amenities here, which make Fira a busy town in summer months. Many options for nightlife and shopping are also found. Fira has about 1,600 permanent inhabitants and is well connected by public transport to the other villages of Santorini.
